The Creative Indians_Season 3_Part 1 (Netflix)

Being from the western world, I found Creative Indians on Netflix. I wanted to watch how artists on the other side of the world approach creativity. Unfortunately, the first two seasons are missing so I can only watch season 3 and 4. Here is a list of what I learned from episodes 1- 5 of season 3 of Creative Indians, a show on Netflix.


Episode 1: AR Raham – Musician


1. Look within yourself for creativity and passion.

2. Sometimes not having refences can inspire you to play naturally.

3. Turning down work may make you feel guilty, but you are being respectful of your and the client’s time.

4. Take inspiration from the world.

5. Don’t try to be some else. Find your own style.

6. Collaborate with those you meet and friends.

7. Teach others.

8. Give back to your community.

9. Find a balance of what you can give and what you can take.

10. Mix mediums


Episode 2: Anurag Kashyap – Filmmaker


1. Have the determination to succeed.

2. Sometimes the things that make you strange make you unique.

3. Take inspiration from past works.

4. Practice your craft every day.

5. Trust your co-workers. Give freedom for them to think.

6. Have an idea of what you want.

7. Utilize items around you even if they seem insignificant.

8. Sometimes struggles are in your head. Stop expecting things to be perfect.

9. Everyone struggles with budgets.

10. Stop being hard on yourself. Don’t be afraid to start.


Episode 3: Piyush Pandey – Ad-man


1. It’s okay to act a little crazy.

2. Life is chaotic and beautiful.

3. Boredom can inspire you to have fun.

4. Enjoy the little things.

5. Take inspiration from life events.

6. Do be afraid to question the director.

7. Respect your audience.

8. Use real people with real stories.

9. Take a chance on new and young employees.

10. Apricate your gifts.


Episode 4: Aarifa Bhinderwala – Pole Dancer


1. You can change peoples’ minds with beauty.

2. Reminder the feeling when doing something exciting.

3. If it is not a job, make it one.

4. In teaching you can learn.

5. Sadness and happiness are part of working.

6. Taste’s change.

7. Explore, research, practice.

8. Build physical and mental strength.

9. Change happens and creates new activities.

10. Respect your own work.


Episode 5: Anita Dongre – Fashion House


1. Come to work ready to implement ideas.

2. Build a routine around your energy level.

3. Consider the environment.

4. Be available and have empathy.

5. Dress confidently.

6. Feel your feeling and consider other feelings.

7. Think “And” instead of “Or”.

8. Consider local artists.

9. When you fail, try again.

10. Specialize your role.
