According to www.oberlo.com, the number of mobile users currently at 5.22 billion and growing. With everyone focusing on their phones, companies are starting to consider re-designing their mobile-friendly logo with the potential of becoming an app. Let's take a look at the new General Motors logo. The company is shifting from gas to electric cars, which means more integrated features with your phone, for example, starting your car with your phone. They started with their brand colors by changing their old dark blue gradient to a bright icy blue to help stand out on both light and dark backgrounds, whether on a car, phone, or computer. Then the designer rounded the square and got rid of the background to match the mobile app look, which goes hand-and-hand with their new electric vibe and creates less of an association towards gas. Finally, the designer changed the capital letters to lowercase to create a clever shape of an electrical plug keeping their electric car products as an emphasis. In conclusion, mobile phones aren't going anywhere, and with companies such as GM are keeping that in mind, more companies will start to consider rebranding their logos in the future.
