When you established a brand identity, creating guidelines can help maintain that identity. Start with the logo: typeface, color information (print, web, hex), placement, how it can and can’t be manipulated. Next, provide secondary elements: complementary fonts, secondary and/or tricerary colors, can the logo elements create a pattern? Third, choose imagery that sets the tone for the company. These can be photos or illustrations. Lastly, show the application of the logo and its elements: stationary, packages, website, social media. For example, check out my portfolio. Brand guides look similar to that minus the paragraphs of my thought process.
